Meeting the challenges of modelling neurodegenerative disease in mice

External Event - 26th to 27th Jun 2017

This scientific meeting, organised by Professor Elizabeth Fisher, Professor Giampietro Schiavo and Dr Pietro Fratta, and hosted by the Royal Society, is entitled " Meeting the challenges of modelling neurodegenerative disease in mice".

The meeting, which takes place on 26 – 27 June 2017 is located at the Royal Society’s residential venue of the Kavli Royal Society Centre, Chicheley Hall, Buckinghamshire.

New technologies for engineering the mouse genome are increasingly sophisticated. However, mouse models of neurodegeneration try to recapitulate human late-onset disorders in an animal that lives for two years and has important differences in physiology and biochemistry. How can we best model neurodegeneration? What features matter? What has given us most insight? What is the future we would like? These meetings aim to provide a platform for leaders within multiple disciplines, in addition to early career researchers, to meet for networking and discussion.

Registration for this two day discussion meeting is free, although delegates are required to register in advance. Due to the small size of these residential meetings, all registration requests are approved via the meeting organisers before registration links are sent to participants. To request an invite please select this link on the meeting webpage.
