Whisky with a science mixer: A true taste of Scotland

BNA Event - 12th Jul 2020

Whisky with a science mixer: A true taste of Scotland

With a history stretching back as far as the 11th century, Scottish whisky is an important part of our identity in Scotland. Like the drink itself, the story of whisky-making in Scotland is fascinating and complex.

With over 120 distilleries spread across the country’s Highlands, Islands and Lowlands, we’re sure there’s a whisky to satisfy your palate, but finding the one for you can take time.

But never fear - to help you find it, the BNA Host Society Committee has organised a special whisky-tasting event for delegates of the FENS Forum 2020 on Sunday July 12th at the Glasgow Science Centre, which is located just across the river from the Forum venue.

The evening, hosted by our friends at the Good Spirits Company, will introduce you to six very special whiskies and will also allow you to sample some of Scotland’s finest culinary delicacies such as Orkney salmon, Aberdeen Angus beef, a vegan selection - yes, there will also be haggis available! Our compère will entertain you with tales about the whiskies you will sample, and share their expert knowledge on the unique features of each ‘dram’ that lies before you.

During the evening there will also be demonstrations to help you learn more about your sense of smell, and ample opportunities to savour the Glasgow skyline from one of the city’s many iconic buildings. This promises to be a real crash-course on some of the many delights Scotland has to offer!

If you’re interested in finding out more about our whisky heritage, you can read some of the great stories on Scotland.org or follow #ScotlandisNow.

This is event is organised by the BNA Host Society Committee for FENS 2020.
