Catania International Summer School of Neuroscience (CISSN)

The Catania International Summer School of Neuroscience has always attracted attendees from Europe interested in the most appealing topics in Neuroscience and Neuropsychopharmacology. The CISSN 2018 is entitled “SYNAPTIC FUNCTION AND DYSFUNCTION: NEW TARGETS FOR BRAIN DISEASES PHARMACOLOGY”. During the CISSN, 10 lectures of 120 min (including 30-min discussion)  will be delivered by experts from among the best in the field of brain diseases and neuropharmacology.

The CISSN is offering 40 Ph.D. students and postdoc fellows a high level, intensive educational program carried out by an excellent international faculty. The CISSN will take place in a unique location, an old Villa close to the Etna Vulcan.

STUDENTS
Applicants can be young scientists (PhD students and Post-Doc fellows) beginning their careers in the field of Neuroscience and Neuropsychopharmacology. Registration is limited to 40 participants. Admission to CISSN will be based on registration’s order (deadline 30th April 2018). Furthermore, 8 attendees will be selected on the basis of their CV to be awarded a 500 € travel grant. Applicants excluded from the list of attendees of CISSN 2018 will be further integrated in the priority list for the CISSN 2019.

The registration fee is 550 €. This amount covers:
-Tuition fee and accompanying materials.
- Lodging at the School venue for 6 nights (from July 15 to July 20, 2018), including meals. Students will be assigned double-triple rooms (two or three beds) and the matching will be based on gender and age.
- In addition, the organizers will provide transfer between the Catania International Airport and the venue, trying to cover as many students as possible. This is a courtesy service and individual transportation cannot be guaranteed.

AUDITORS
Applicants can be PhD students, Post-Doc fellows, senior scientist or health experts interested to CISSN 2018. Admission to CISSN will be based on the order of registration. Registration is limited to 20 auditors. Admission to CISSN will be based on the order of registration (deadline 10th May 2018). Auditors will not be selected for travel grant evaluation.

The registration fee is 200 €. This amount covers:
Tuition fee, accompanying materials and lunchs for 5 days.
