Two new Senior Teaching Fellow positions at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience will provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, delivery and revision of King's College London's Distance Learning MSc/PG Dip/PG Cert programmes in Applied Neuroscience and Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health with the object of ensuring a high standard of education and outcomes for students.

The successful candidate(s) will play a critical role in the organisation and delivery of our online education portfolio in the fields of neuroscience and neuropsychology. They will undertake online teaching activities on the above programmes and contribute to the development, administration, delivery, assessment, and enhancement of taught modules. The successful applicant(s) will supervise online research projects and undertake administrative responsibilities as well as supervisory/pastoral activities for students.

Please note that there are two posts available. The second post will start later in 2021 (June - September).

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.

This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent.

Person Criteria

Essential Criteria

  • PhD in Neuroscience, or related subject
  • Ability to develop and deliver excellent quality teaching in neuroscience at postgraduate level
  • Demonstration of appropriate subject knowledge enabling teaching provision in more than one module
  • Understanding of distance learning, online teaching delivery
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in delivering excellent quality teaching in neuroscience to postgraduate students in a higher education environment
  • Providing support and guidance in the supervision and tutoring of postgraduate students
  • Ability to manage and interact with staff and students at all levels
  • Experience of managing and delivering projects to agreed timelines
  • Evidence of high self-motivation and ability to organise, plan and prioritise workload
  • A demonstrable understanding of, and commitment to, working within principles of equality, diversity and inclusivity

Desirable Criteria

  • Higher Education teaching qualification (e.g. PGCAPHE or PGCHE)
  • Ability to develop creative teaching methods and innovative assessment methods
  • Skills in moderating discussion boards, providing student feedback and assessing work
  • Excellent IT skills including knowledge of course creation and delivery on Moodle or similar VLE
  • Experience of designing content and running postgraduate modules
  • Experience with online platforms and digital education
