The salary will be paid at Grade 7, £42,036 to £43,267 per annum, plus £3,223 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be a fixed-term contract for 4 years.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional non-clinical Neuroscientist with Viral Vector expertise who will be develop novel gene therapies for Frontotemporal Dementia and Motor Neuron Disease.  The Post holder will be responsible for the design of viral vectors including codon optimisation of genes and microRNA as well as the viral capsid of Adenovirus Associated Virus (AAV) and Lentiviral vectors. They will lead a team of post-doctoral scientists and technicians generating viral vectors at GLP and GMP grade. They will be responsible for assessing vector quality control, transduction efficiency and in vitro and in vivo toxicology studies.  The post holder will be educated to post-doctoral degree level and will have extensive experience of molecular and cellular biology and the generation and use of viral vectors. Ultimately, success will be measured by high impact publication output and attracting research funding.
