Professor Narender Ramnani Steps into Presidency at the British Neuroscience Association
29th April 2025
Permanent, full time (three positions)
We are seeking to recruit to three positions at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level for the BSc/MSci Biomedical Science programmes at SGUL. Applicants should have experience of teaching and assessment at university level, and the ability to deliver broad-based teaching across biomedical sciences. For one of the posts, experience in developmental biology/embryology is desirable; and for another, experience in physiology (respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrinology, kidney & body fluids, alimentary, musculoskeletal, neuroscience, or reproduction) is desirable. However, applicants with expertise in any subject area relevant to biomedical science will be considered.
A range of teaching formats are used: lectures, scenario-based learning, small group tutorials, and laboratory practical sessions. Successful applicants will also be expected to contribute to assessment, and to supervise final year laboratory research projects. Although this is predominantly a teaching position, there may be opportunities to pursue active research, with an emphasis on collaboration and external funding.
Applicants must have a first degree in a biological science and a PhD in an appropriate discipline. Experience of delivery of teaching and assessment at undergraduate level is essential. Experience of small group teaching and running laboratory based research projects is desirable.
A 10 minute lecture at UG level in any subject area relevant to biomedical science, will be required as part of the interview process.
Interviews will be on 18 and 19 June 2019
