The Department seeks to appoint a Research Associate (or a Research Assistant working towards a relevant PhD) to work full time for 3 years from 1^st April 2020 on a project using EEG to look at the functional and oscillatory markers of word segmentation in children with Developmental Language Disorder.

Applications are invited for a full-time post-doctoral research associate to work on a project investigating the neural mechanism involved in parsing speech in typically developing children and children with developmental language disorder.

Applicants should ideally have a PhD at the date of appointment or be close to completion in one of the following disciplines: psychology, engineering, neuroscience or linguistics. The candidate should have experience of designing, administering and analysing EEG experiments with human subjects (ideally children).

Expertise in oscillatory paradigms and time-frequency and/or functional connectivity analyses would be an advantage. The candidate should have excellent mathematical, programming and technical skills (e.g. Matlab).

The project is based in the ESRC International Centre for Language and Communicative Development (LuCiD) and will involve researchers from the University of Liverpool and University of Manchester.
