Professor Narender Ramnani Steps into Presidency at the British Neuroscience Association
29th April 2025
Dementia is the biggest health challenge of our century. To date, there is no way to prevent it or even slow its progression, and there is an urgent need to fill the knowledge gap in our basic understanding of the diseases that cause it.
The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) is the biggest UK initiative driving forward research to fill this gap.
Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to join the Dementia Research Centre (DRC) and the Dementia Research Institute (DRI) Fluid Biomarker Laboratory.
The post holder’s primary role will be to perform assays and other biomarker analyses within the Genetic FTD Initiative (GENFI) study and associated clinical trials in FTD, particularly in relation to cellular dysfunctions such as neuroinflammation. They will also help with the processing, management and storage of data and samples collected for these studies, and with analysing the biomarker data.
Applicants must have an honours degree (minimum 2:1) in neuroscience or a related discipline, plus experience of performing laboratory assays such as ELISAs and experience of database management.
