A Research Associate is sought to lead on the analysis of neuroimaging and clinical data collected as part of a longitudinal programme of research using PET and MRI neuroimaging to investigate the high risk of Alzheimer's disease experienced by people with Down's Syndrome (DS). This post is funded by Alzheimer's Research-UK. The Research Associate will be expected to work with the DS and dementia research group under the leadership of Dr Shahid Zaman and to undertake analysis of extensive existing data, to work in partnership with others in the University to apply new techniques to the analysis of the data, and to lead on preparing papers for publication.

Applicants will be expected to work with the research group and to develop the necessary analytic strategies to address the research questions. They must have had experience in the collection and analysis of longitudinal clinical and neuroimaging data and to have the ability to acquire new skills as and when new neuroimaging analytic techniques are developed: (1) Freesurfer, (2) FSL, (3) SPM, (4) resting state analyses with CONN. To support research skills development the University offers a comprehensive programme of research training available to research staff employed by the University. The successful applicant will be based at the Cambridge Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Group in the Department of Psychiatry, Douglas House, Cambridge, and be part of the Down's syndrome research group, and also link with colleagues in Prof John O'Brien's group and with other research groups studying dementia.

Applicants will possess a PhD and a first degree in psychology or another neuroscience discipline and be willing to travel and work occasionally outside of normal working hours. The position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Research Passport. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the outcome of the necessary checks.
