Professor Narender Ramnani Steps into Presidency at the British Neuroscience Association

Applications are invited for the post of Research Technician within the Centre for Neuroscience, Surgery and Trauma in the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
A vacancy has become available for the post of Research Technician, for support of all aspects of the in vitro and in vivo studies carried out by the group led by Professor Michael-Titus, whose focus is research on neuroprotection and neurorepair in brain and spinal cord injury. The candidate will be expected to have some familiarity with in vitro techniques such as cell culture, and also with immunohistochemistry. They will also be expected to support in vivo studies, in animal models of disease, in neurotrauma and neurodegeneration. If necessary, training in various techniques could be provided within the existing research group.
The successful candidate will have previous experience and exposure to standard laboratory techniques, such as preparations of buffer solutions, preparations of antibody solutions, experience in biochemical assay use and development, including ELISA or western blot analysis.
This post is full time, fixed term and funded until September 2020. The post will be based in Whitechapel. Starting salary will be in the range £27,251 - £33,615 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and an interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
