Abuse and Dependence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day to day hands on running of Intravenous Self Administration studies in rodents, ensuring they are carried out to the required scientific and regulatory standards. The role requires the candidate to be responsible for all aspects of the study including preparation of paperwork, maintenance of experimental equipment, dose preparation and sampling, data processing/checking and record keeping. Some out of hours work will be required.

The ideal candidate will have considerable experience of working with rodents, a meticulous attitude towards consistency and be proactive. A Personal Home Office license is essential, as is an appropriate qualification in animal technology (MIAT, FIAT), a degree or equivalent level of work experience.

Knowledge of the CNS area, preclinical in-vivo models/behavioural assays and previous surgical experience would be an advantage. Experience of GLP is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
