Date/Time: 12 March 2018, 17:00-23:00
Venue: Wylam Brewery, Exhibition Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE2 4PZ
Come and celebrate Brain Awareness Week and British Science Week with us at Wylam Brewery in Exhibition Park.
For one night only the building in Exhibition park known as the ‘Palace of Arts’ will be transformed into the ‘Palace of Science’.
Representatives from the British Science Association, Newcastle University, Institute of Physics and more will be presenting the innovative science research happening in the region. There will be a range of interactive exhibits and fun demonstrations you can ‘have a go at’. These will include thermal cameras, and superconductivity levitation, epilepsy, spinal cord and stroke rehabilitation techniques. Perhaps even the chance to see ‘That Dress’ which made the internet crazy last year and decide what colour it is for yourself.
Our friends at Ampersand Inventions have created some beautiful and informative installations to help explain some of the science. You will also have a chance to see some of the pieces from the recent Valence exhibition a collaboration between the Wellcome Centre for Mitochondrial Research and Newcastle University Fine Art department.
