We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Neuroscience, who holds a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area and who has experience and a track record in (pain/inflammation/neuroinflammation/arthritis) research, or a closely related area. Applicants should be able to give demonstrable evidence that their research publications since 2014 are REF-returnable as well as demonstrated ability to attract external funding.
Applicants should be prepared to contribute to teaching on the neuroscience programme, and should also be able to provide demonstrable evidence of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. The successful applicant will contribute to undergraduate teaching from the start of appointment, and so should be willing to develop and deliver appropriate teaching at all levels.
Support, training and mentoring will be provided in both teaching and research - the successful applicant will be closely aligned with an existing research group to offer support and guidance. Research mentoring will include support and sponsorship for joint funding applications (led by the applicant), training in co-supervision of postgraduate, students and research development, to enable the successful applicant to develop both research and teaching independence during this appointment.
