This new post is to lead a team of clinical trial coordinators within the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, who are coordinating 2a and 2b trials in degenerative brain diseases (Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases) as well as head injury, multiple sclerosis and autoimmune psychosis.

This post will be based in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences and Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The key job roles of the Clinical Trials Coordinator are:

To facilitate and co-ordinate the set-up and conduct of clinical trials and/or clinical studies working closely with a team of trial coordinators, chief investigators and their teams.

To have responsibility for setting-up participating sites in multi-centre trials and ensuring that all data and samples are collected following the protocol.

Understanding of good clinical research practice, relevant legislation and research governance will be essential in this role, with experience of preparation of documents for REC and MHRA review, including patient information leaflets, research protocols, consent forms, and questionnaires.

The role holder will need a degree in a relevant subject or be qualified through appropriate research experience. Please see the 'Further Information' document for a full list of requirements for this role.

The post-holder will need excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, together with research experience and skills in coordinating clinical trials
