Job description
The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) is a joint £250 million investment into dementia research led by the Medical Research Council (MRC) alongside founding charity partners the Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK. The UK DRI at Imperial is seeking outstanding scientists interested in developing independent research programs as new faculty and UK DRI Fellows. Research programmes should address fundamental neuroscientific opportunities with the ultimate aim of improving human health. Research of successful candidates will be funded generously through the UK DRI.
Applications
We welcome applications from scientists without previous experience in neurodegeneration research who have a genuine intent to fully refocus their skills and expertise to address the challenges of dementia in novel ways. Research that could have strong synergies with existing programmes addressing neuronal-glial interactions and their modulation by the microbiome and circadian mechanisms are of particular interest. However, we also are committed to employing people who will add to diversity amongst our staff and approaches.
Full details and an application pack can be found here. Informal enquiries should be accompanied by a CV and directed to Prof Paul Matthews, Associate Director of the UK DRI.
