The Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN) is an exciting new centre formed out of a number of world leading brain-imaging centres in Oxford. As a centre, we aim to bridge the gap between laboratory neuroscience and human health. To do this, we conduct research in a wide range of areas, including basic and clinical neuroscience, physics of neuroimaging, and analysis of neuroimaging data.

In addition, to make our research more relevant to society, a core objective of the centre is to engage a wide variety of audiences with our science.

Our major aims are to inform and inspire diverse audiences and improve our research through dialogue with these audiences.

We also provide training and lots of engagement opportunities for our researchers to help make them better communicators.

In this newly created post, the successful candidate will be supporting the centre’s Public Engagement Coordinator, working with them and the centre’s researchers and core staff to deliver our ambitious and hugely varied public engagement strategy.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with good knowledge about public engagement best practise and an understanding of the need for and benefits of public engagement in research.

Experience of delivering public engagement activities and assimilating complex information quickly, identifying key points and making them accessible for a wider audience is essential.

The candidate will be expected to be familiar with digital media and the use of social networks, with excellent communication and organisational skills. Prior experience designing blogs, podcasting and social media campaigns would prove beneficial.

The post is part-time (0.6 FTE/22.5 hours) for a fixed-term of 2 years in the first instance.
