We are seeking a postdoctoral neuroscientist to develop, execute and analyse electrophysiological and behavioural experiments in rodents as part of a scientific programme designed to investigate neuronal dynamics of multi-brain circuit assemblies during the expression of memory-guided appetitive behaviour.

You should hold a PhD in neuroscience and demonstrate clear expertise and a promising track record in the field of in vivo network physiology, neuronal assemblies and memory processes. Candidates should have advanced technical expertise in programming (C, Python, R or Matlab) and multivariate data analysis.

The postholder will be part of the Dupret Group based at the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit at the University of Oxford 1, Department of Pharmacology. The group uses a multidisciplinary approach to elucidate how temporal coordination of cortical and subcortical activity relates to the encoding, consolidation and recall of memories as well as the expression of memory-guided behaviour. The group combines electrophysiological techniques with optogenetic techniques and closed-loop systems to infer causality, where possible.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post with end date of 31 March 2020 in the first instance (possible extension from 1 April 2020 subject to renewal of funding from the Medical Research Council), with an initial probationary period, to start as soon as possible from April 2018.
