We are seeking a Postdoctoral Neuroscientist to execute, analyse and report on a combination of state-of-the-art electrophysiological, behavioural and anatomical experiments in rodents, as part of a research programme that is designed to elucidate the function/dysfunction of motor thalamic neurons and their connectivity with frontal cortex. This post offers exciting opportunities for innovative neuroscientists who enjoy collaborative, multidisciplinary work.

In addition to having a PhD (or MD) or equivalent qualification in a relevant area of biological research, this qualification can be held or submitted for examination by the time of starting the post, candidates should have a promising track record of original research in their particular field of neuroscience. Candidates are also expected to have technical expertise in one or more of the following: (i) In vivo or in vitro electrophysiological recording, (ii) Establishing novel experimental set-ups for simultaneous electrophysiological recording of many neurons. In addition, they will provide evidence of creative and critical thinking as applied to the development and execution of a cohesive programme of research.
