Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position funded by the MRC to investigate the mechanisms of chronic pain. We employ a combination of experimental approaches including pain behavior, electrophysiology, molecular biology, Ca2+ imaging, histology, qRT-PCR, RNA-Seq, in vivo gene delivery, ELISA and western blotting to tackle our research questions. You will have opportunity to develop comprehensive research skills and enhance your research profile. The successful candidate must have a PhD or M.D. (or be near completion) in Neuroscience, Pharmacology or a related biological discipline. We are seeking a motivated individual committed to high quality research with evidence of creative and critical thinking. The post holder will be expected to have skills on behavioural assessment and/or molecular techniques or electrophysiology. Ability to design and execute experiments independently and communicate scientific findings at conferences is essential.
