Applications are invited for a full-time Research Assistant to provide maternity cover and work on a longitudinal project investigating auditory and motor processing abilities and language development in infants using EEG and motion capture. The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Psychology (Centre for Neuroscience in Education) and will be joining a team headed by Professor Usha Goswami (see: http://www.cnebabylab.psychol.cam.ac.uk/). The position is available from 1st April 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applicants should ideally have a degree in psychology, neuroscience or linguistics or a related discipline, and use of a car. Experience of behavioural testing with infants and toddlers would be an advantage. Applicants will require the capacity to work independently within the current team to ensure the smooth running of the testing of the infant cohort (120 infants, 8 repeated monthly visits from age 2 months).

Applicants will also carry out home test visits to collect language data. Excellent organisational and communication skills are required, and prior experience with administering EEG experiments, ideally involving an EGI system, would be useful.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 November 2019 in the first instance.
