Job description

We are seeking to recruit a bright and motivated scientist for fixed-term 7-month Research Assistant position for an exciting new project using virtual reality to study how curiosity and exploration affect long-term memories. The project is funded via a Seeds for Seed Award of the Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund at Cardiff University.
 
You will conduct research in the School of Psychology involving virtual reality paradigms to study how curiosity affects learning and memory. The key responsibilities will be designing and programming the virtual reality paradigms along with data collection/analyses of the developed paradigms. Therefore, previous knowledge using virtual reality and/or experience using a virtual reality software package (e.g. Unity or Vizard) is highly desirable.
 
The successful candidate will work closely with Dr Matthias Gruber at the newly built Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC) being part of the School of Psychology.

Salary: It is not expected to appoint above £26,495 per annum, Grade 5, point 23.
