This 3-year Leverhulme Trust-funded project entitled ‘What do Kainate receptors (KARs) do in the brain and how do they do it?’. The appointed Research Associate will use multi-disciplinary approaches in in vitro and in vivo systems to define how KAR mRNA editing is regulated and how it impacts on KAR trafficking, KAR-mediated synaptic plasticity and brain function.
The PDRA will be highly motivated with directly relevant, biochemical, imaging and, preferably some electrophysiological expertise. They will make major practical and intellectual contributions to the project and enjoy a large degree of independence in experimental design and specific research directions.
Applicants should hold a BSc and PhD in a relevant subject.
