Investigating deleterious signalling between astrocytes and motoneurons in a human iPSC-based model of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
The Neural Control of Movement Lab (http://ncm.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk/), headed by Professor Gareth Miles at the University of St Andrews, is currently looking for motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with a proven track record in neuroscience research to work on a project investigating the role of dysfunctional crosstalk between astrocytes and motoneurons in the devastating neurodegenerative disease Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This project will utilize a combination of cutting edge electrophysiological and imaging techniques applied to human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived models. The project is part of a MND Scotland-funded collaboration with Prof Siddharthan Chandran (University of Edinburgh; http://www.siddharthanchandran.org.uk/).
For informal enquiries please contact Prof Gareth Miles (gbm4@st-andrews.ac.uk).
This post is fixed term for 14 months.
