There are two upcoming deadlines for awards from the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) - 
EJN Young Investigator Prize (15th February)EJN Best Publication Award 2019 (31st March)

 

EJN Young Investigator Prize (15th February)

It is a personal prize of GBP 7,000. Candidates must either be working in a European research institution or be of European origin if working outside of Europe. Individuals may apply themselves or be nominated by fellow neuroscientists.

Recognising outstanding scientific work in all areas of neuroscience

Nominations are now open 

Candidates must be aged 35 or under (at the nomination deadline) and be either working in a European research institution or, if working elsewhere, be of European origin.

The following age rules apply for the Young Investigator Prize:
Women: 18 months per child is added to the age limit of 35 years.
Men: Actual time of paternity leave is added to the age limit of 35 years.

Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by fellow neuroscientists.

The award will be presented at the FENS Forum 2020 in Glasgow, UK, 11-15 July 2020, where the awardee will be required to give a lecture. They will also be required to write a review article for publication in EJN.

The evaluation committee will meet in March 2019 and all applicants will be notified of the results in April 2019.

EJN Best Publication Award 2019 (31st March)

Prize: £ 3,000

Nominations are now open

In collaboration with FENS and Wiley, EJN is calling for applications for the “Best Publication Award 2019”.

This biennial award recognises the best original research article published in EJN over the preceding two?year period (published or accepted in years 2017 and 2018).

Nominations are accepted from the readership of EJN. The first author(s) of an article may also be nominated by the paper’s co-authors.

The award will be presented at the FENS Regional Meeting in Belgrade, Serbia (10 - 13 July 2019). The award winner will be required to give a lecture at this meeting.

The application should include the following documents, bundled together into a single PDF file:

  • A short statement addressing the significance of the work.
  • PDF of the article.
  • Short biosketch (max. 2 pages) of the first author (or first authors in case of equal first co?authorship).
  • A signed statement by all authors of the article confirming their support for the nomination and, in case of multiple first authors, the selection of the speaker for the Belgrade meeting.

Submission deadline: 31st March 2019
