Call for ECR member of the BNA's Green Neuroscience Working Group

7th Apr 2022

Do you want to help shape the work of our Green Neuroscience Working Group, boosting our efforts to make the BNA as environmentally responsible as possible in its activities? Are you interested in also helping support the neuroscience sector to minimise the negative environmental impact of undertaking research, teaching and practice?

We're looking for an Early Career Researcher (ECR) to join our Green Neuroscience Working Group (GNWG) - someone who can bring a different perspective and enthusiam in environmental responsibility in neuroscience, and help GNWG to inform the BNA's work. GNWG meets online every 2-3 months.

Eligibility:

  • You must be a BNA member at time of applying (not a member? Join us today!).
  • You must be at a stage of your career where you will be an ECR until at least May 2023. Click here for definition of ECR.
  • You must be currently associated / registered with a UK Higher Education Institute.
  • You must be interested and committed to green neuroscience, and able to represent the BNA on this.

ECR members are invited to register their interest in joining the GNWG by submitting a brief supporting statement (max 200 words) via our online form by 17:00 BST 13 May 2022

All members are reminded of the need to adhere to the Association’s policies, including the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.

What the role involves:

  • You will attend meetings of the group (about 3-4 a year, online).
  • You will help support the BNA's green neuroscience approach - for example, helping incentivise environmentally responsible approaches within the BNA's membership, and helping raise the profile of green neuroscience in the wider neuroscience community.
  • You will get to meet a great network of like-minded people, build your CV, and gain skills and knowledge to help your own research.

We will get back to applicants by 27 May 2022 with a decision on the GNWG position.
