Festive Symposium 2025: Delivering Neuroscience: From Synapse to Society

At the British Neuroscience Association, we are dedicated to advancing neuroscience research and fostering a vibrant scientific community. We are equally committed to ensuring that our activities contribute positively to the environment and this encompasses every aspect of the events we run, from minimising waste and reducing carbon footprints to encouraging eco-friendly practices among delegates.

Sustainability Efforts for the Festive Symposium include: 

  • Eco-Friendly Materials: Reusable, recyclable, or biodegradable name badges, programmes, and banners. 
  • Sustainable Catering: Default vegetarian menu to lower carbon footprint. 
  • Accessibility: the venue is well connected by the London Underground and DLR networks, allowing quick and sustainable access from all major stations.

      • Canary Wharf (Jubilee Line): 3 minutes walk
      • Heron Quays (DLR): 2 minutes walk via pedestrian bridge
    • Connections from Major London Hubs:
      • London Bridge Station: 10-15 mins via Jubilee Line
      • Waterloo Station: aprox. 20 mins via Jubilee Line
      • Liverpool Street Station: aprox. 15 mins via DLR (to Bank) then Central Line
      • Euston Station: 25-30 mins via Northern and Jubilee Lines

Thanks to support from The Company of Biologists, we are able to offer subsidised meeting rates to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and expect students to use low-impact travel methods such as train, coach or shared car.
