BNA Exchange Grants
The British Neuroscience Association (BNA) offers grants of up to £600 to support PhD students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) wishing to undertake short research exchanges between UK and international neuroscience labs.
Purpose
To promote:
- Collaboration
- Skill-sharing
- New techniques and approaches not available in the applicant's home lab
Key Details
- Open to BNA members who are PhD students or ECRs
- Exchanges can be UK-to-international or international-to-UK
- Must be at least two weeks in duration
- Must be approved by the applicant’s supervisor/PI
- Cannot be to an institution where the applicant has previously worked or studied
Eligibility
- Research must relate to the brain or nervous system
- Applicants returning to their home country must have been abroad for at least three years
- Proof of ECR/student status may be required
Application Requirements
- Letter of recommendation from a current BNA-member supervisor (max 350 words)
- CV (max 2 pages) including education, research, publications
Funding Limit
- £3,000 available per BNA financial year (Oct 1–Sept 30)
- Applications close once the yearly budget is fully allocated
