Inclusivity at BNA2027

At BNA2027, we are committed to fostering a welcoming, accessible and inclusive environment for all delegates. In partnership with ICC Belfast, we aim to ensure that every member of the neuroscience community feels supported, respected and able to fully participate in the Festival of Neuroscience.

Bursaries and Grants

We’re committed to helping make BNA2027 accessible to as many people as possible. Grants of up to £200 are available to support travel and accommodation costs, and to help delegates with caring costs while attending the Festival.

Accessibility at ICC Belfast

ICC Belfast is designed to support a wide range of access needs, helping to ensure that everyone can engage comfortably with the event. The venue offers:

Step-free access throughout the building
Accessible seating options across event spaces
Lift access to all floors
Accessible toilet facilities

The ICC Belfast team is experienced in supporting diverse audiences and will be available throughout the Festival to assist delegates as needed. During registration, attendees will be invited to share any specific accessibility requirements so that appropriate arrangements can be made in advance.

Children at BNA2027

We want BNA2027 to be as welcoming and accessible as possible, including for delegates who need to bring children with them. Children aged 16 or under are welcome to attend the Festival, provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. They can join you in session rooms, talks, poster areas and on the exhibition floor.

There is no registration fee for children, but they must be accompanied by a registered adult delegate.

When registering, please let us know the number and ages of any children you’ll be bringing. We may contact you before the Festival to check a few additional details and help ensure everything is in place for your visit.

Wellbeing and Personal Needs

We recognise that attending large-scale events can present different challenges depending on individual circumstances. ICC Belfast works closely with event organisers to accommodate a range of access, wellbeing and personal requirements where possible, including:

Our goal is to create an environment where delegates feel comfortable requesting support and confident that their needs will be taken seriously.
