Public Engagement in Practice: Insights from the Bring Your Own Brain Programme

In this interview, Dr Susannah Walker, Chair of the Liverpool Neuroscience Group, reflects on the development and impact of the Bring Your Own Brain (BYOB) Public Engagement Programme.

I am thrilled to receive the BNA Public Engagement Award 2024. The prize highlights the importance of connecting neuroscience with society, and the recognition celebrates not just my efforts but the incredible teams and communities I’ve had the privilege to work with. I hope I can inspire others in neuroscience to see public engagement as a vital part of their work, ensuring that science is open and inclusive to all.
