BNA Credibility Bursaries
With support from the Gatsby Foundation, the British Neuroscience Association (BNA) offers Credibility Bursaries of up to £200 to help postgraduates and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) attend training and events focused on improving research credibility.
Purpose of the Bursary
These bursaries are designed to support neuroscientists in developing the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to make their research more:
- Robust
- Reliable
- Replicable
- Reproducible
This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to our ‘Credibility in Neuroscience’ manifesto, specifically Commitment 2:
Equipping all neuroscientists – regardless of career stage, location, research area or method – to conduct research that stands the test of time.
Who Can Apply?
- Postgraduate students
- Early Career Researchers (ECRs)
- Applicants must be using the bursary to attend credibility-focused events or training
What Events Are Eligible?
The bursaries support events that specifically focus on credible research practices, such as:
- Reproducibility workshops
- Open science training
- Methodology courses aimed at improving rigour
Please note: These bursaries do not cover general neuroscience conferences or events unless a clear and specific link to credibility in neuroscience is demonstrated in your application.
Funding Details
Up to £200 per bursary. Funding can be used for:
- Travel
- Registration fees
- Accommodation (if applicable).
How to Apply
Applications are accepted via our online form. You’ll be asked to outline:
- The event/training you plan to attend
- How it supports credibility in neuroscience
- A breakdown of how you’ll use the funding
