BNA Festival Bursaries

The International Festival of Neuroscience is the British Neuroscience Association’s flagship biennial meeting, drawing over 1,000 delegates from across the neuroscience community to a lively and inspiring location.

BNA members can apply for a bursary of up to £200 to support travel and/or accommodation costs for attending these Festivals. Applications for BNA2027 will open in Autumn 2026.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a current BNA member (priority given to members of 6+ months)
  • Have registered for BNA2027
  • Not have received a bursary for a previous BNA Festival

Selection Criteria

Priority will be given to:

  • International students
  • Attendees from Low and Middle Income Countries
  • Applicants who have submitted a poster abstract
  • First-time attendees of the BNA International Festival

Funding is based on the most economical travel and reasonable accommodation options.

Terms & Payment

  • Bursaries are awarded in advance to reduce financial barriers
  • If you’re unable to attend, the bursary must be returned
  • You may be asked to provide receipts as proof of attendance
  • Data will be retained for up to 8 years for grant administration
