Explore the importance and practical value of networking, with the skills and confidence to build meaningful professional connections throughout your career.

In 2026 the Society of British Neurological Surgeons will be marking its Centenary with a conference to celebrate all that has been achieved in neurosurgery, and the related neurosciences, in the UK and Ireland over the past 100 years.

Join us for an engaging online discussion exploring how Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) is transforming neuroscience research.

Celebrating more than 30 years of collaborative work, Prof. Rüdiger Köhling cordially invites colleagues, collaborators and early-career researchers to the CRC/SFB 1270 ELAINE / IRTG Symposium “Modulating Brain Networks: Mechanisms, Models & Medical Translation”, taking place on 24–25 September 2026 at Oskar Langendorff Institute for Physiology, Gertrudenstraße 9, 18057 Rostock, Germany. The symposium brings together leading experimentalists, clinicians, engineers and theoreticians to discuss how brain networks can be understood, modeled, and therapeutically modulated across scales and disease contexts. A particular focus lies on translational approaches linking fundamental mechanisms to clinical applications, including deep brain stimulation, closed-loop therapies, network biomarkers, and computational modeling. Join the Network+ community for a full‑day gathering in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. This annual meeting brings members from across the UK together to reflect, plan, and collaborate on the future of our work. What to Expect Strategic updates on progress, priorities, and upcoming initiatives Opportunities for meaningful collaboration and open discussion Space to share insights, explore new ideas, and build connections The meeting will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel on the Royal Mile, a modern, well‑equipped venue within Edinburgh’s historic centre. Why Attend The only occasion this year when the full Network+ community meets in person An opportunity to contribute to key decisions and future direction A chance to engage with new partners and reconnect with colleagues A forward‑looking agenda designed to inspire fresh perspectives and innovative thinking

The Scottish Neuroscience Group's 2026 meeting boasts a packed programme of presentations from PhD students and early-career researchers based across Scotland, also featuring a poster session and a special guest lecture from Professor Matthew Grubb (King's College London). The Epilepsy Research Institute proudly presents our inaugural Research Summit on 16 July 2026 at the Royal College of Physicians in London. This one-day event will explore how epilepsy research can be designed, delivered and translated so that it delivers meaningful improvements in the lives of people affected by epilepsy. With advances such as artificial intelligence and genetic therapies, it is a hugely exciting time for epilepsy research, with more knowledge and innovation than ever before. Yet despite this progress, many people with epilepsy continue to face gaps in diagnosis, treatment and support, all of which have a significant impact on quality of life. The Summit will focus on one key question: “So what?”, moving the conversation beyond discovery and into real-world impact. The event will showcase examples of research that have influenced practice or policy and bring the epilepsy research community together to identify what enables research to lead to meaningful change. It will include themed sessions exploring how advances in data science, artificial intelligence and digital technologies are reshaping our understanding of epilepsy, alongside talks showcasing how research is being translated into new treatments, approaches to care and improvements in clinical practice. Delegates will gain insights from leading experts and build new connections, driving collaboration to radically advance epilepsy research for real-world impact. We are delighted that Professor Viktor Jirsa has agreed to chair the summit as well as giving a keynote speech on the development of Virtual Brain Twin technologies – from the Human Brain Project to EBRAINS – and their impact on personalised brain models and epilepsy treatment. He has been conducting prize-winning research in the field of neuroscience for over 30 years, publishing over 200 scientific articles. He will be joined by an exciting lineup of guest speakers from across the epilepsy field, with a programme of talks and panel discussions exploring key priorities and the latest developments in epilepsy research. We hope you can join us for this unmissable event before the summer break.
