Exciting PhD Opportunity in Immuno-Oncology & Neuroscience
Are you ready to tackle one of the most pressing safety challenges in immuno-oncology? We are offering a DiMeN DTP iCASE MRC-funded PhD studentship in the Dickens Lab, in collaboration with AstraZeneca.
This multidisciplinary project is a scientifically rigorous, translational project at the nexus of neuroscience, immunology, and drug safety. You will investigate Immune Cell-Associated Neurotoxicity Syndrome (ICANS)- an acute, potentially severe neurologic toxicity that can occur after T-cell–based therapies by decoding how blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity is compromised and how we can protect it.
Multidisciplinary team with internationally recognised expertise:
David Dickens (BBB biology, University of Liverpool)
Munir Pirmohamed (Drug safety and clinical pharmacology, University of Liverpool)
Mahnoush Bahjat (Immunotoxicology, AstraZeneca)
Albena Dinkova-Kostova (NRF2 biology, University of Dundee)
The team has a strong track record in PhD mentorship and in developing innovative models to evaluate immune safety risks.
