Neuroscientists at Aston University are working to understand how the brain works by investigating its function from the single cell level using in vitro electrophysiological and molecular biological techniques to the whole brain using human brain imaging and psychological approaches. Fields of research include Alzheimer's Disease, Epilepsy, Parkinson's Disease and the ageing mind. Human brain imaging is conducted at the recently opened Aston Brain Centre.
